Black or Silver Fillings

Black and silver fillings don’t look as nice as a bright white tooth.

So if black fillings and silver fillings are unsightly then why do dentists use them?

Well because the metal substance used for the filling (known as dental amalgam) is quite cost effective and lasts a good period of time before needing replacement.

The disadvantages of silver fillings include the fact that they are ugly and they tarnish and corrode which affects thier strength.
